When conducting color matching for screen printing, the first consideration is whether the hue is consistent. This can be achieved by scraping the color with sample paper or conducting simulated printing tests, and then observing and comparing the standard and the sample with the naked eye.
Secondly, according to the color tone indicated in the original draft, make small sample adjustments. Only when the color difference is small or equal to that of the original draft can a large batch of blending be carried out, and the time should be short and the amount of blending should be appropriate. If too little is mixed, it will cause a production halt, resulting in inconsistent ink tones and affecting the normal operation of production. And too much will cause unnecessary waste.
Furthermore, when crude oil ink is mixed in different proportions, many colors of ink can be produced.
The blending of light-colored inks is generally based on white ink, with appropriate colored inks added. For example, light blue, mainly white ink, with a little blue added; Grey, mainly white ink, with a hint of black; Silver-gray, mainly white ink, with a little silver powder paste added and a trace amount of black ink. Light red, mainly white ink, with a hint of bright red; When preparing light-colored screen printing ink, try to add as little white ink as possible because white ink is highly reactive and can easily cause discoloration of other colors.
Finally, ink adjustment is usually carried out in a place where the light is stable or not directly illuminated. When adjusting the color of screen printing ink, three points should be noted:
When mixing ink, try to add as few inks of different colors as possible. The fewer types of colored inks there are, the better the mixing effect will be.
Second, adopt the "from light to dark" principle. Whether preparing light or bright colored inks, be cautious when the hue is close to the sample. Inks produced by different manufacturers should not be mixed and used. It is advisable to use inks of different colors from the same manufacturer for color matching. Otherwise, uneven tones may occur, and in severe cases, coagulation may happen, causing the ink to become unusable.
Thirdly, some screen printing inks are dried through drying. Light-colored inks become lighter after drying than those that are not, while dark-colored inks tend to be darker after drying.
In addition, another issue that needs to be considered is whether there is a difference in the tone of the ink before and after drying during printing, which is an easily overlooked problem. Generally speaking, for substrates that dry naturally, such as plastic, metal, paper, glass, etc., the color will not change. As for screen printing inks that dry through heat curing or light curing, there are variations in color depth, as mentioned above. When the amount of ink to be mixed is large, an ink mixer can be used, which can complete the color mixing in a short time.
