On March 21st, a reporter from Caixin News Agency learned from the industry chain that the special paper segment of the domestic papermaking industry has witnessed a new round of centralized price hikes. Several leading paper companies simultaneously issued price increase notices to cope with the continuously rising cost pressure.
Sun Paper and Wuzhou Special Paper were the first to issue price adjustment announcements, clearly stating that due to the increase in raw materials and overall operating costs, starting from March 21, 2026, they will uniformly increase the prices of all their digital paper products by 500 yuan per ton based on the current prices.
On the same day, Xianhe Company also issued a price adjustment notice. To alleviate the company's operational pressure, it decided to start from the delivery on March 21st, increase the prices of all products of the company's supplied inkjet and thermal transfer printing base paper by another 500 yuan per ton on the basis of the price increase on March 5th, forming a two-round price increase trend within a short period.
This price adjustment covers core special paper categories such as digital paper and inkjet heat transfer printing base paper. The price increase is uniform and the implementation time is consistent, highlighting the industry's coordinated response strategy under the continuous pressure on costs.
