The latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that from January to November 2025, the national output of machine-made paper and paperboard reached 148.871 million tons, up by 2.8% year-on-year.
In November 2025, the national output of machine-made paper and paperboard reached 14.588 million tons, increasing by 5.3% year-on-year and by approximately 242,000 tons month-on-month compared to October. The monthly output exceeded that of March 2025 (14.553 million tons), setting a new historical record for monthly output!
Judging from the current industry development trend, the overall production remained stable in December, and the total output is expected to exceed 160 million tons by 2025.
In addition, the Producer Price Index (PPI) for the paper and paper products industry (a key indicator for measuring the trend and extent of changes in the prices of industrial products at the factory gate) has reached 100. This is the first time since September 2022 that the PPI index of the papermaking industry has surpassed the 100 mark, ending the 37-month consecutive period of being below 100. This indicates that the factory-gate prices of the industry's products have finally achieved year-on-year positive growth.
