Recently, the papermaking industry has witnessed a new round of price hikes. Leading paper manufacturers such as Jielong Paper Industry, Shanying International, and Rongcheng Paper Industry have announced maintenance shutdowns while simultaneously releasing a series of price increase notices. As the May Day holiday approaches, many paper mills have announced their plans for price hikes in early May in advance. The prices of mainstream products such as corrugated paper and bullk card paper have generally increased by around 50 yuan per ton.
Due to the increase in raw material costs at the upstream level, packaging enterprises are experiencing a sharp rise in pressure. Recently, packaging enterprises in multiple regions such as Hubei, Jiangxi, Anhui, Jiangsu, and Guangdong have all issued price adjustment notices for cardboard, passing on the cost pressure to their downstream customers. According to statistics, the current price increase of cardboard is mostly around 3%, and it is likely to continue rising as the price of raw paper further increases.
